Art History Minor
The minor in Art History at the AAC combines the study of art history and studio practice with a foundation in academic research, art historical methodologies, and an optional Museum Studies Internship. This minor prepares students for further career preparation and/or graduate studies in a variety of arts-related fields, humanities, and social sciences disciplines such as Media Studies, Psychology, and Anthropology. A key feature of the Art History minor is the opportunity to complete a Museum Studies Internship, which offers a wide variety of professional experiences. Students have completed internships in curatorial departments of the Cincinnati Art Museum and other area arts institutions, including the Contemporary Art Center, the Taft Museum of Art, and others. These internships give students a range of art history-related experiences that are excellent stepping-stones toward a variety of museum careers, including curatorial work and art conservation.
