AAC is committed to promoting the health and wellness of students through prevention, education, and linkage to resources and services. 

Student Wellness Services​

Student Wellness Center: N403

The Student Wellness Center is a wellness space co-created and co-operated by AAC students and the Wellness Resource Specialist. It is a healing and artistic expression space. Supplied with therapeutic art and mindfulness tools for students to engage in art as a wellness practice. Students can engage with art stations at every corner designed to support their creative self-expression while also helping to reduce their stress. Additionally, students can obtain health supplies and information here. Just ask your peer wellness educators!

Wellness Resource Specialist

The Wellness Resource Specialist is a trained mental health professional who provides students with support, information, and tools to help manage their mental health needs.

Needs Assessment

AAC students may meet with the Wellness Resource Specialist to do an initial screening and evaluation to determine how the students’ mental health needs can best be met. If the Wellness Resource Specialist determines that the student’s needs require psychological or psychiatric intervention than the appropriate referral is made for further assessment.

Wellness Talks

Wellness Talks are held Wednesdays from 11:30am-12:30pm, check for exact dates  by semester. 

The Wellness Resource Specialist will hold support circles for students to discuss common experiences and build community.

Award winning positivity app geared toward building self love through personalized and customizable daily affirmations. Even create affirmation audio with your own voice.

student health insurance

All AAC students are required to have health insurance during all terms of academic enrollment. If a student does not have health insurance, AAC provides insurance through a plan from United HealthCare that is specifically set up for AAC students.

Students can waive AAC Health Insurance at the beginning of each school year, by showing proof of insurance. If you do need AAC insurance, a charge will be applied to your student bill. Please contact the Wellness Resource Specialist for more information about AAC Health Insurance.
