Why AAC ?
AAC is a small school of art, design, and creative writing. We have a major-fluid program which allows all students to explore and experiment outside of their official major to build a toolbelt of skills. We employed the Tuition Promise in 2019, which means that your tuition will remain the same for as long as you’re attending here!
We’ve welcomed students who have been in a similar situation to yours. In 2020, Memphis College of Art closed its doors, and art student Nytaya Babbitt transferred her studies and talents to AAC—and graduated as valedictorian in 2022! She now lives and works in Cincinnati, organizing community and adult programs at the Contemporary Arts Center, one of our city’s most reputable arts institutions.
Cincinnati (Cincy for short) has a deep love for the arts. It’s not limited to niche spots or neighborhoods in town, like Over-the-Rhine where AAC is located—our entire city thrives on visionaries and makers. We are the creative heart of the Midwest, where artistic talent and community engagement combine to create a powerful arts and cultural scene.
There are several Fortune 500 companies that call Cincy home, including but not limited to Kroger, Procter & Gamble, and Fifth Third Bank. And many of these companies hire AAC alumni to bring artistic skills to their creative branches.
On the weekends, you’ll always find new and unique ways to engage with the city, whether it’s indulging in a food festival, shopping at Findlay Market, walking the Ohio Riverfront at Smale Park, exploring the 18,000 acres of public parks throughout the region, meeting Fiona at the Cincinnati Zoo, catching a professional football or soccer or baseball game, seeing the enormous annual Oktoberfest for yourself, or simply checking out the Downtown area from top to bottom on the (free!) streetcar connector.
If that doesn’t convince you, here are some stats that might:
Cincinnati is the number-one city in the U.S. for street and mural art.
The Human Rights Campaign gave Cincinnati a perfect score in their annual LGBTQ+ equality survey.
In 2022, SmartAsset ranked Cincinnati as the best U.S. city for new college graduates for the fourth year in a row.
The cost of living in Cincinnati is 11.7 percent lower than the national average.
The average cost of a one-bedroom apartment in Cincinnati is $990.
