Classes Announced for CE Satellite Location

In July the Art Academy of Cincinnati Community Education Department announced its partnership with the Sharonville Fine Arts Center. We are excited to inform you course offerings at the Center are now available!

Classes for Adults and Teens

Drawing from the Very Beginning
Tuesdays, October 2 to November 13
6:30-9:00 pm
8 classes
Fee $180
This is an introductory class for those who claim they can’t even draw a straight line! Working initially from still-life arrangement and progressing to nude figure studies in the last classes, students will learn to draw what they see in charcoal, ink, and pencil. Students must be 16 or older. Class cost includes model fee.

Figure Drawing
Saturdays, September 20 to November 8
9:30 am-12:10 pm
8 classes
Fee of $180
This course will teach you to draw the figure working from a professional model. With an emphasis on light and shadow, learn to use negative shapes, visual measuring tools, hidden alignments, proportions and other techniques to capture the figure. Open to ages 16 and up.

Color Fundamentals
Saturdays, October 11 to November 15
1:00-2:30 pm
6 classes
Fee of $120
In this course, students will explore and unlock the sensitive interactions of color’s three dimensions—huge, value, and saturation. Students will experiment with color mixing, application and paring to create depth in space.

Drawing for Teens
Thursdays, October 2 to November 13
4:00-6:00 pm
6 classes
Fee of $145
The instructor will introduce students to traditional fundamentals of figure drawing from a clothed model, while encouraging individual styles development and exploration of drawing media and methods. Open to students 13-18 years old.

After-School Art for Kids
Thursdays, October 7 to November 11
4:00-6:00 pm
6 classes
Fee of $65
This class introduces students ages 5-12 to the foundations of art through fun, hands-on projects that explore color, composition and theories of art. Students will work with a variety of unique materials and concepts to gain an understanding of art making, while encouraged to find their own individual style.

The Sharonville Fine Arts Center is run by the Sharonville Fine Arts Council.  The mission of the Council is to implement a comprehensive arts and cultural initiative for the City of Sharonville and the surrounding region. They also offer a diverse range of facilities, including a gallery and theater.

The Community Education Department is excited for this new partnership and we look forward to seeing the amazing work!
