AIGA CINCINNAT TO HOST INK BLEEDS 4

AT THE ART ACADEMY OF CINCINNATI

CINCINNATI, OH – October 18, 2013

AIGA Cincinnati is proud to present INK BLEEDS 4; the biennial gallery exhibition featuring poster art from the most audacious and provocative artists throughout the region. INK BLEEDS 4, (11/13 – 12/13) reception and celebration will be held at the Art Academy of Cincinnati on Friday, November 15, 2013, 6:00 pm. to 11:00 pm., sponsored by AIGA Cincinnati, the professional association for design and the Art Academy of Cincinnati.

It’s a night immersed in art, music, culture, and community. The show features 8 artists nationally renowned for their work in design, illustration, and printmaking. Entrance is free, but for a $20 donation that benefits AIGA Cincinnati, guests receive a screen-printed event poster, a beer ticket for a Rhinegeist brew. Bring your own t-shirt, and get a $5.00 screen of one of four animal prints used on the poster. This year’s event poster is a collaboration by artists Keith Neltner, Tommy Sheehan, Mark Thomas and Rob Warnick, which is an eclectic and edgy Ink Bleeds 4 totem.

Many of the artists in the show will be selling posters at the event. Rhinegeist Brewery will sell beer at a “pop up” bar, and taco food concessions will be specially prepared by Kaldi’s.
The night will also have a live soundtrack, with a performance by Ohio Knife at 9:00 pm.

Art Academy of Cincinnati professor and Co-President of AIGA Cincinnati, Mark Thomas is joint curator and producer of INK BLEEDS 4 with Keith Neltner, neltnersmallbatch.com, Rob Warnick, warnickart.com and Thommy Sheehan, thommyink.com.

“The vibrant and long established partnership between AIGA Cincinnati and the Art Academy of Cincinnati has provided significant cultural programs like INK BLEEDS and events for over 15 years and has significantly contributed to the revitalized urban core in Over the Rhine. We feel a sense of responsibility and privilege to offer unique experiences to AIGA members, AAC students and the entire creative community of Greater Cincinnati. INK BLEEDS is an ongoing celebration of the art of the modern rock poster. This is one of the most popular and well-attended events for AIGA Cincinnati and the Art Academy of Cincinnati because it reflects exactly what our members, students and friends are most passionate about: creativity, culture, community, and of course, cool.”  -Mark Thomas
